Some of us are unlucky enough to be born knowing our calling in life.  Our purpose as it were.  We're driven by a voice inside our head that screams for us to follow that one thing.  Resist as we may, happiness is only felt when completely immersed in it.  It's something we can't explain.  We feel completely at odds with life outside of that one thing.  It separates us from those around us.  No one understands.  No one gets what we feel.  What it feels like to be absorbed in our purpose.  To be so incredibly passionate about something that it consumes you.  You live it.  You breathe it.  It invades your thoughts when you're awake.  You dream about it when you're asleep.  


There's something within it that balances you, that makes you whole… and without it, you're lost in the world.  You try to explain it with the most descriptive and eloquent of verbiage, but those around you only roll their eyes.  They'll never understand this incredibly intense passion that burns within you.  You struggle.  You hope that your passion is enough.  Enough to keep you holding on through the intense loneliness and isolation that it brings.  Never being able to express yourself truthfully, honestly, openly to another human being who understands you.  Who wants to understand "it."  To connect with someone beyond a superficial level.  It's like trying to describe the colors of a sunset to a person who's been blind since birth… eventually they just get tired of listening to you about something they cannot understand.  You're surrounded by a sea of the blind, nodding passively, dismissing you uncaringly, hearing you but never really seeing you or listening to you.  My biggest fear in life is not that I will fail… it's that I'll live a life that's never understood. Dismissed by those unknowing. Isolated and alone…  a powerful light that was never able to shine.
